I've finally purchased a Lone Wolf Alpha and Climbing Stick 3 pack.

I've heard some folks mention mixing tree steps - including a Muddy Stick or two with their setup. Anyone do this with much success? Do they pack quietly?

    Thanks for the replies!

I bought a 4th LW stick and use a couple of screw-in steps as well.

I have hunted with 4 lone wolf sticks for a few years. I would not mix them just because I dont think the Muddys would lock into the lone wolf sticks then you have 2 groups of sticks rattling around. I have seen on AT guys putting the sinch ropes on the lone wolfs though that would be a cool upgrade that is quieter then the l/w buckles.

Sometimes I even mix in a couple screw-in steps in with my LW sticks. ;)

    Greg,

I was reading up on them, and I came across a couple of posts where you mentioned that!

Not really sure why you would need to mix in different sticks with each other?

If you really need an extra step or two, try carrying a few screw-in steps. I do the same as Greg and they certainly come in handy from time to time. And they work well for bow holders too in case you forget yours. :D

I now have a total of 10 LW sticks. I carry as many as 5 on my stand. Can't use screw-in steps on public land here in MN anymore. You can buy the LW sticks in singles and even packs of 4.

Yes buy the 4th LW stick and like the others said, if your able to use screw in steps, they come in handy time to time.

Justin - just seems like adding a Muddy stick or two at the top, is a popular way to make hanging the stand? I think it's because of the double step on each side.

I'm new at this - just asking!
