I have a job interview in Monett, Missouri (well I should say the first step is a phone interview, scheduled for Monday).

The location looks awesome on a Map. I could be in either Arkansa, Oklahoma, or Kansas in what looks to be less than 50 miles.

I see some pretty big tracts of Mark Twain National Forrest not far from there.

Any information on hunting that part of Missouri or the close parts of the surrounding States would be appreciated.

Definately a lot of National Forest land around there. A guy I work with hunts some on the East side of the state. I turkey hunted it with him before. It's some big country, and a lot of it is walk in or horses only.

The bucks are bigger in Northern MO but you can kill a good one anyplace.

Better brush up on your skills at judging thermals and wind travel the hills and hollows are a real pain to hunt sometimes. The wind can and will come form any direction at any given time. Its a challenge. I make due but I rarely see any monsters with little or no agriculture. If you work there give me a shout Im only a short distance away. Are you interviewing for Tyson foods ?

Missouri has a lot of public ground. You're down by the ozarks, some big deer down there, but like someone said, the terrain could be your biggest obstacle. The hills down there are pretty /\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\ . Either way, you'd be in the midwest, can't say too much about the other states.

Thanks guys. I can handle the hills seeing as the highest point in MO is only some 1700 feet. ;)

    Any more tidbits are appreciated
