anyone have any info how the hunting is in missouri south of braddyville iowa? I am on a mission to find some private land in Missouri to hunt this fall. I'll be bringing a buddy along just incase of a break down on the way. hoping to get a place to hook up my fifth wheel camper and stay in that. any info will be greatly appreciated.
I'm not too familiar with that particular area. Sometimes I hunt 40 miles east of there near Grant City. There are some good deer in that area, but I feel like there's more timber over there than there is around Clearmont. It's almost all ag up there with very few blocks of timber, mainly just ditches and draws in the ag fields. I'm sure there are some good deer up there, I just haven't spent much time in that neck of the woods.
I believe any of the northern/iowa border counties, with the exception of the northeast counties are a good bet. Good deer all around in those areas. I hunt Mercer county each fall and the numbers are down a bit, but the quality is definitely there.
Nodaway county is great hunting. My father in law owns land in nodaway county that i hunt. Also know several others with hunting land in the area. I had been eyeballing some land, 143 acres between elmo and clearmont, only problem with it is that im poor.
thanks guys. buddy of mine lives in KC and acquired some property to hunt from a guy he used to work with. he wants me to come out this year. I checked the property on aerial maps and looks like there is a couple of big woodlots on it. he was told no one has hunted this property in a long time. I just wanted to get some feedback from you guys before pursuing this. this property is 350 acres and the nodaway river runs through part of it.
If you want, private message me the general area youre talking about. I can let you know what i know about the region
