My brother lives in Missouri and can only take one day off this year due to busy schedule....should he take it next week (Nov. 3) or the next (Nov. 10)? Just wondering what kind of chase activity you guys are seeing. Any help/advice would be appreciated.

Before I opened the thread I was going to say the 10th. Didn't even know it was one of the 2 dates.

Seems like the 10th is always the date mentioned most by just about everyone.

Can you take off before the 31st and 1st?... After Youth Rifle season, it seems bow hunting is done for a bit from my luck the last several years.

The 10th is always good if you are looking for all out chasing. The 3rd would probably be better if you are looking at killing a specific buck.

The 10th will show a much heavier rut action. Bucks will be on their feet and moving during daylight for sure on the 10th. I have killed bucks on the 11th, 14th and 15th with my bow. The 11th is the new moon, and the moon rises in the AM on the 10th, so it will be dark all night long. To me, that's good for daylight activity also.

I always think the 8th of November is the day to be in the woods no matter where you are so I would say the 10th.

I have five P&Ys, including one that almost hit B&C, that I've taken on Nov. 11. Guess you know what my suggestion would be ;)

    Thanks for the input, guys.
He had already asked for today off...but changed it to the 10th based on your suggestions. Hope it pays off for him!

I haven't seen much here yet. I'm off on the 11th so I believe I'll be in the woods.

If the 3rd and the 10th are his only 2 options, I'd go with the 10th. The 3rd being right after youth rifle season, things will be a little slow.
