I got drawn for Weldon late season. Me and a buddy hunted it last year and he shot a nice buck.

I used to hunt 4 rivers public and it was dangerously entertaining. I hunted some private land outside of Grain Valley and Uric, mo. Great hunting at both places. Nowadays I only trout fish in MO. Love Roaring Rivers. Currently I'm next door in ILLINOIS

We got drawn for the late season Longview hunt. We appear to be on the 5 year program.

Just wondering how my neighbors in MO opening day went? Anyone brave the early season heat, bugs?

I couldn't handle it Shocker. It was too warm and wet. I was off of work last week which left lots of catching up to do. Supposed to be warm here all of this coming week.
When do you guys get started over there?

    Good Luck this season Shocker!!!

Went out on Saturday night and sat for four hours and saw three does they constantly fed in and out of bow range and never offered a shot! The most miserable part is I found out I have to work in Montana and Minnesota for the next month leaving the 26th of Sept and won't be home till the first of November!

I only had my first sit last weekend. It's been too hot. The cold front coming in tomorrow should make this weekend's hunting a little more tolerable. Anyone had any luck yet??

Been out a couple times and it's been rough. I did however shoot my first thunder chicken with archery equipment my first sit. Had a group of hens stroll by and found a mouth call I had in my pack when they got out of sight. A few putts on the call and they came right back. She didn't go 10 feet.

Awesome! I had hens clucking everywhere last weekend, but a mouth call was the only thing I forgot to pack.

Christian county here. No cam pics yet, but found a tree as big around as my fist shredded this weekend 30 yards from the stand. Several other smaller rubbed trees snapped in half less than 100 yards away. Should be a good season. Seen on average 10 does and fawns each time I've sat in my neighborhood. Unfortunately, they seem to know the game is on. Won't get within 60 yards. Going to get a hang on stand put out later this seek to see if I can put one in the freezer.

Cedar county. Took a small doe on the 8th. Got busted drawing on a nice one week before that. I haven't seen a single buck though. Mosquitos have been pretty bad. Almost out of thermocell mats.

Up north of Kirksville. I've been seeing lots of activity in both the morning and evening sits. I have only seen one shooter from the stand so far, otherwise it's been just does and fawns. Finally starting to see the shooter bucks on trail cams during shooting hours. I will post some pics when I get a chance.

Saw a familiar small buck in my neighborhood. Nothing to get excited about until I noticed a nice buck across the street from him watching me watch the small one. Pulling trail cam pics tomorrow. Hopefully will be something worth mentioning on there.
