This is BS. They can go to hell. http://www.examiner.com/article/mis...introduce-bill-that-would-ban-assault-weapons
That sucks... but the introduction of a bill is exactly that. There's a long way to go and I'd like to think that it wont get far in MO.
I don't think there's a snowballs chance in hell this would pass, but it just blows my mind that they would even introduce a bill like this. We are not some liberal wacko state like Illinois, NY or California.
I just fired of a pretty nasty email to the sponsor and co-sponsors of this bill. I urge everyone to do the same. Here's the email address: [email protected] [email protected] [email protected] Shame on you! To propose a bill that would even consider confiscating personal property from you constituents is just disgusting. We still live in American, the land of the free. One of our freedoms granted in the constitution is the right to bear arms. It does not state the right to bare only the arms in which the government deems acceptable. You are introducing a bill to confiscate a tool that is used in less than 3% of all gun crime. All you are doing is trying to play off of the emotions of Sandy Hook. Crazy people will do crazy things with or without Assault Rifles. They will just use a shotgun or pistols or a bomb. You should be ashamed of yourselves. You know, hell even the Vice President knows(remember him being caught on film saying he knows these proposed gun laws will not have an effect on gun violence) that no proposed legislation will prevent tragedies such as Sandy Hook. You represent a city with the highest crime rate in the state, why are you not trying to fix that? Why take guns away from law abiding citizens? What can possibly be gained by disarming people who use guns for sport and self protection? Your twisted and crazy reasoning is despicable. When you spit on the Constitution, you spit on the people you represent. I can promise you one thing, if you want a fight on gun control, your going to get one! The people will not stand for this type of irresponsible legislation. We will make it our duty to assure that you are fired when your term is up! We are fed up with the government eroding our rights, and are willing to stand up and fight to keep them. Do the right thing, stand up for the rights of the people! Sincerely, Stephen Robinson
