It seems that every time I release an arrow I miss my aiming point to the left. Im new to bow hunting so I think it is probably something with my form. Does anyone know what could be wrong with my form to cause this to happen? i know its hard without actually seeing my form, but any suggestions that might fix my issue would help a ton. Or could it be something as simple as adjusting my arrow rest?
If your missing left then you need to move your site to the left. Good luck. If you have any pictures or video then post it for us.
Yes I'm right handed. Bow was set up by Sonny Glisson of Glisson Archery. And Im missing about 3-4in left consistantly
I have driven by that shop a few times but never stopped in. Was thinking one of these trips down to get my daughter in Ottawa I would stop in and check it out. Heard it is a nice shop.
Its got a nice 20yd indoor range, outdoor range, outdoor 3d range, and a pretty big selection of bows and accessories. Talk to sonny hes a good guy Sent from my SGH-T959 using Tapatalk
In my short experince with compound bow archery, I find if you are grouping your shots pretty well, move the sight. If your group is not so hot, you may be torquing the bow via the grip. I had a problem with my group being off to the right 2" for a day or two, then back in the bull again for a session, then back to the right again. Sight was loose, tightened the sight down, problem solved.
Missing left intermittently can be caused by a lot of things. It could be a form issue, etc. Would need to see pics of you from the side and front at full draw to really tell. Assuming your right handed a lot of newer archers will miss left due to having their draw length setup too long for them.
Make sure your grip is only your thumb meat your fingers dont even have to touch anything and your fingers should be at about a 45 degree angle. That should take care of the grip torque. Is your centershot right? If you set the cam on your boot and look down at your bow while its standing up (Idler wheel should be closest part of the bow to you) with an arrow knocked you can tell if the arrow is pointing to the left or the right, it should be right in line with the stabilizer most of the time. You can move whisker biscuits left and right, and you can always take to the bow shop to make sure your centershot is perfect. Make sure when your shooting your bow you slowly pull the trigger to where the bow surprises you when it fires.
im new to bowhunting too. when i first got my bow my older brother whose built the same as me (same DL and height) shot my bow and basically sighted it in for me. i still couldnt shoot it for awhile. just took a lotta practice but now i hit the heart at 30 yards so idk
