Who here runs mirrorless setups? I am looking at the Sony FX line or the Lumix line. I am looking to hear if anyone has experience with these or any other mirrorless setups.

I’m scratching my head here because I have no idea what a “mirrorless setup” is.

Check www.bhphotovideo.com; they are one of the top suppliers of photo equipment, new and used. Customer service is great. Go to the website, search and get reviews of various cameras, lenses, etc. Newer cameras don't use mirrors for the photo image. I have a Canon DSLR which is now obsolete. Learned after this year, service is no longer available. Mirrorless cameras are totally in charge with sophisticated electronics as the basis. Good luck as there is a wide range of cameras and prices. I looked at one...$2500!

Hey AF! I've been running DSLR & mirrorless setups for over a decade now. My primary cam is a Canon EOS R6, but I've used a EOR R, 90D, 70D and Sony a6300 in the past. I know a ton of photographers & videographers, most are either Sony or Canon, though Brandyn, who shoots for Bowhunt or Die still uses a Lumix.

The biggest thing when bitting off trying to film with any mirroless system, it to spend as much time as possible to get used to changing setting. You want it to be second nature when the moment of truth comes, just like shooting you bow. They are clumsier to operate that camcorders, especially self filming, but their imaging is unmatched.

For lenses, I'm typically running a 24-70 for bowhunting. If I'm filming someone else, I'll run 2 cameras, one with either the 24-70 or a 10-20mm for a statice wide on the hunter and then shoot a 70-200 for my A-Cam.

Thanks Fitz. My old camera is a DSLR which only shoots in 1080 and likes to overheat after about 15 minutes. I am looking at the Sony FX line. I do run the 70 - 200mm. I am looking at a B cam with a fix optic.

I just got a Canon EOS R50 V. It's more of a "beginner" mirrorless camera as far as price point goes but so far I like it. It's my first camera of it's kind! The kit came with 14-30mm power zoom lense, I'm hoping canon designs more lenses with that feature in the future. Shoots 4k/30 and 4k crop/60 and 1080p/120. I'm going to test the low light capabilities of it this evening and in the morning.
