I'm in onamia area for tonight and all day tomorrow. It looks like my mock scrape got hit this week but I didn't see any others. I'll post any updates as they happen! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Sloooooooooow! Had shooters on my camera and even at 430pm Wednesday but didn't see anything but does and no bucks following them. Like every year, gun season will hit rut smack dab on the nose.
I was in northern mn for the past 4 days and didn't see much going on. Found a few scrapes but nothing to call home about. I actually saw more deer on the side of the road at night then I did in the stand. So I figure I'm just going to hunt from the car at night from now on. Lol
Saw an absolute monster in an open field with a doe on my way to work 2 days ago (around 7AM). I still havent seen much while on the stand - We do still have standing corn though.
1:30 to 3:00 today was nuts. Lots of chasing by 2 bucks. One of them was an 8 point. 115ish I'd say. Big bodied deer, 180lbs or so dressed I'm guessing so I'm thinking he's a 3 year old. I gave him a pass.
I had a slow start to the morning but things heated up about 8:30. High 120's to 130 10 point was walking a trail nose to the ground 50 some yards away. I threw the binoculars on him to see his size as he looked different then any buck I've had on camera so far. Sure enough he was a 10. We haven't had a 10 on camera yet this year. I grunted and brought him In to 15 or so yards. I let him pass but man I was tempted. If It wasn't for goofy horn (the target buck I'm after) he would've gotten an arrow. Good size deer too. 4 year old or older. He had a sway back look to him. Huge front end. I also saw a spike this morning. Smallest buck body wise that I've ever saw. If he makes 85 to 90 pounds dressed he's lucky. He was following a doe. I thought for sure he was her fawn until I saw his spikes. Good luck everyone!!
Been slow for anyone else? I have only seen repeat deer and one nice buck other than that coming up empty. I did shoot a doe fawn because it could barely walk but that's my excitement for the year so far. Not looking forward to wearing orange but ill still be out there dodging bullets. Good Luck to the rest of you
I'm in central MN. I hunt halfway between St. cloud and Princeton (not much action). I also hunt west of Little Falls and have been seeing rut activity like crazy. Got a new shooter buck on cam we have never seen before too. The weather for tomorrow does not look promising at all but I plan to sit all day.
I went out last night and only saw a little fork chasing does around on my food plot. I saw 3 seperate does still with there fawns it doesnt seem like alot of the does in my area are in estrous yet. Anyone else seeing this?
