Any MN or WI guys get hit by the storms on friday? The farm got it bad. Been without power since friday night and it sounds like the earliest we'll have it is tomorrow. Chicago County is still trying to clear trees off roads. Most of our out buildings need new tin, house needs new shingles. We lost 15 trees in the yard and it tipped the grain auger and gravity boxes, we also lost a door on the pole barn. The neighbor lost his barn. I'll try and post some pics from my phone, otherwise i'll post when we get power. Lots of clean up ahead...
Dam that sucks Kyle. I sure hope no one was hurt. That shot of your neighbors barn really shows what kind of damage was done. Good luck on putting things back together man.
Sorry to see that happen to anyone. You guys sure have been getting nasty storms the last couple summers. Tim
Sorry to hear that, Kyle. Hope everyone is healthy and no one is homeless at this time. Was that straightline winds or more circular pattern? We didn't get any damage a few miles south of you. But it seemed like we were in the very early stages of a funnel due to the swirling sand, branches and trees at one point. Power went out twice for us. First time, I heard someone slammed into a pole and the second time was directly a result of the storm.
I was supposed to be at the cabin in Burnett County WI this weekend, but my brother was there. The storm hit the area hard. Luckily, we cut down a bunch of big oaks last year around the cabin after one fell on it during a storm. The neighbors had 4 oaks on their cabin and there were power lines down everywhere. The damage around your place looks nasty, but glad you made it through safe.
Oh dang. Hope everything comes out alright for you guys. It's been a rough year on this country for storms. On a side note, send me some pics of the black truck before it got hurt by the tree. [email protected]
We got lucky here at my place. This spring I cut down 2 huge boxelders that hung over the house. I'm pretty sure they would've been laying on my roof If I hadn't. Word Is we had 80 mph straight line winds here. I just had one tree down which just missed my horse barn. Others around here weren't so lucky but not near the damage you had. Milk hauling was a pain In the ass too. No electricity means no milking cows or pumping milk from the farmers tanks. No juice for 3 days here In spots, glad the juice Is finally back for the sake of my job and the dairy farmers here In the area. Man you guys got hit hard, I hate seeing stuff like this. Sorry to see this Kyle.
That is some serious wind to do damage that bad, glad everyone made it out ok. Looks like you have some work ahead of you.
Thanks guys, Force, it was very powerful straight line winds 90+ mph one of my neighbors "wind break" of white pines completely snapped. Dan, I heard it was bad over there my uncle has a cabin in Danbury and it doesn't sound good... Here are some cleanup pics we had most of our machinery up from Minneapolis to haul...im very thankful we have such great friends that came and helped out! My nephew help driving dump truck Big friggin tree, my hat on top for scale
