Me and a buddy are coming up to hunt some whitetails here this fall, I was wondering if any of the Minnesota guys here have some leads on land that needs hunted this fall, even just to take a doe or two? Had one spot lined up but it fell through today so we might get stuck with public. I am up in Minnesota about an hour south of Bemidji for the next couple of days

Well you might want to check the regs to see if does are allowed in the area you are considering hunting. Why would you leave Iowa to hunt Minnesota? Iowa is supposed to have P&Y bucks behind every tree, there are no decent deer in Minnesota.

If I had a bigger piece of land to hunt on I would ask the owner aka my grandma. The other place I hunt is for family only and I've know the people for most of life so I guess I qualify. I really don't know of any places around but I guess I don't really look. Good luck to you this season.

Still hunting in Iowa. Was offered the chance to hunt up here as well so I bought a license but then it fell through. Trying not to waste the money

I can ask if you can hunt up at my grannies. The last person to hunt there that wasn't family was about 3-4 years ago. I should also add that it's just over 30 acres if you're even interested.

LOL if you don't want to waste the money save your time and your gas and stay in Iowa, there is good deer here in Mn, but they are few and far between and it takes some serious time or luck to stumble into one. Thats just my 2 sense though...

Find some public land in the southern part of the state. Then you wouldn't have to drive as far.

How pressured is the land there and is there quite a bit of it? Couldn't find a map on the Dnr website

Its not pressured like crazy but it does get hunted. If you are looking for a doe it'll get the job done.

Public land archery is pretty good until pheasant season opens up. At least by me (SW), it gets beat to crap daily and nothing is big enough to have any areas too far off the path for guys not to walk. That isn't the case however in some areas.
