Are any of you guys having problems with seeing big bucks or shooting big bucks in the last few years on your Private land? Ive been hearing a lot of people talking about this.

    Lemme know!

Seems like our deer herd is way dpwn- that includes big and small. Talking with buddies from north to south and its like a broken record.

I've actually been seeing more and bigger deer over the past few years. In fact, I've been having more action in Northern MN than I do in WI.

That's interesting Fitz, we have been seeing a lot of does in central MN but hardly a big buck when we used to see 4-5 a year

We took 3 nice Bucks in 2012, We had several nice Bucks on cameras last season but we had very few sightings of them while hunting.

I personally would like to see some changes in the management at a state level, maybe take a look at Iowa and WI. Fitz must have a really good spot because if you look at the B&C map by county, you can clearly see where WI and Iowa end because it goes right from red counties ( highest number of big bucks) down to 2-3 brackets lower in MN even in the same Mississippi River valley.. I can't explain that other than WI and Iowas here management...
Do you guys have any idea why that is?

Last 2 years have been weird. I talk to a bunch of hunters and it would seem like the big bucks have been scarce. from what I have seen with fawns being born later this year peak breeding was after gun season. I hunt in an area where it has been hunters choice last 4 years and only last year there was 1 bonus tag available, so the population has not been all shot up.
