People are making too many assumptions. First, is that deer need calcium and phosphorous supplementation at all. Second, they assume the amount of calcium and phosphorous fed to deer is significant when compared to their normal intake from wild feed. They also assume absorption and utilization of all types of supplements are the same. Why do you think feeding a 2:1 dical phos supplement will equal a good ratio when combined with the normal intake from wild feed?
