Trophy rocks are just mined wads of salt with natural trace minerals. They will attract deer. Like all blocks, I prefer to place before winter, burying most of it so snow and rain leeches out the salt to the soil to be consumed. Health benefits from other minerals can't hurt, but is unproven. I like to think it helps. Works for cattle, but then again pastures lack mineral content due to over grazing, not something deer face.
I think the website is the only place to buy it. You should average about a bag a month over the course of a year spreading it a little more periodically during the summer months and a little less periodically during the winter.
There are a number of stores that are carrying Monster Raxx and we are working with a sales rep group now to expand even farther. If you let your archery shop know you want them to carry it have them call me I am willing to work with them.
I only sell it in 5 pound bags because of price. I do not fill it with salt and the attractant that I built for it is expensive so I do not want anyone to get sticker shock when they see it. There is however more minerals and vitamins in that 5 pound bag than most competitors larger bags. I have said this before but this is my mineral schedule the last couple of years. I put it out in January, March, May, June, July, August and October and have had great results on my lease. If anyone has a question that they dont want to ask here feel free to message me here or send an email or call I would be happy to answer any questions that I can.
Ill have to get on this!!!! It will save me a little money on shippping hahaha! Just ordered a bag yesterday Tom an I'm more then excited to get it out!
Is there anyone out here that can use minerals right now, but is not prostaff or dedicated to another companies products?
I can use (outside of hunting season), I'm not pro staff...but like anyone who uses products I'm dedicated to specific ones based upon my own experiences and opinions. Monsterraxx for me.
Monster Raxx = best mineral on the market IMHO not just for the potential it has in relation to antler growth, but also the benefits it provides to nursing does / fawns this time of year. I run mine Jan-Oct freshening up about once a month. Sent from my ADR6300 using Tapatalk 2
Those guys have already tested others and use Monster Raxx over what they tested to begin with. Or are you looking for people to test something you have?
It is something else. It is a mix with water pour attractant. You can actually use it with standard minerals to kick off a site or attract more deer, but the test they want to have first is as a standalone.
So it's an attractant not a mineral supplement? There is a big difference in my opinion at least. Is it like the liquid deer cane stuff in the sense it's a liquid you spray or pour and the deer are supposed to come?
It has minerals in it. You mix 7 lbs in 5-7 gallons of water and pour on ground. Usage-wise is similar to the Deer Cane powder, just isn't the same mixture.
When I pour out mineral, it gets mixed up and soaks into the ground too. Its a process known as "Raining."
Not public yet, better for blind tests. This is not to be a comparison to other products. The market would do that on its own, I'm sure. This is why I am looking for a couple people who have no currently preferred product they use, to avoid bias either way.
Actually, this is a poor way to look at it. You would be surprised how much vitamins and minerals are damaged by sunlight, rain water, poor packaging, etc. Although microencapsulation techniques have come a long way, if you really believe that minerals help deer nutrition (as I do), storage and timing and age of minerals make a big difference in how good they are.
I have no doubt anything with salt as a primary ingredient (assuming it is by your earlier statements) is going to attract deer...by nature it should and would. If attractiveness was the reason I did mineral licks I'd use c'mere deer or deer can or trophy rock...but I'm a mineral lick fan because of the healthy benefits it gives to bone structure, lactating mothers, (yes) antlers and just overall health of the herd in my area. Wish I didn't have to dig mine up each year due to IN law but I feel the benefits are worth it. My biggest beef is companies claiming there stuff is a healthy mineral supplement geared towards the health of the herd when it truly is just an attractant. I'm a fan of calling a spade a spade and an attractant an attractant. I don't use Monsterraxx based on anything solely besides I feel it's mixture is the most beneficial mineral supplement I can find for the deer and they hit it as hard as an attractant at times. Keep us updated on this stuff you're trying to find testers for though, intrigued I am.
