One of my favorite plot mixes. Worked better than other no tills I tried. Not as good as the ones you do till in but much less work way back in the woods.

I know we have some prostaff guys out here but I haven't met them. I work with our retail partners.

We are working on a plot mix, but as you already are sure to know, it takes time to do it right. Catfish bait testing is currently underway. Really awesome stuff so far, independent trials start if we ever get a spring.

    Is that a Yoda quote?

I recommend 2 sites per 40 acres. I also have put out years where i use 1400 lbs of deer mineral. I will not bash any product on any site online but there isn't science in many deer minerals on the market. Many of the attractants on the market are also not as natural and for deer minerals to be effective they need to be consumed on a regular basis and if they aren't then they need to be "loaded" and with chelated trace minerals to keep them in the system longer or absorbed in the muscle verses washed through the blood stream.

Most deer minerals on the market are 2-3 times the price than they should be. I know many people in the deer mineral game and many of them put fancy names on a bag, use great packaging but I also have many stories i can share that lead me to have the opinions that i have. A high number of people in the game don't understand ruminant nutrition, nor are they presenting value and success. It's my one thing that I could talk all day on. It's one thing that drives me crazy when i see some of these tags out in the market place.

Here is what i will say. The most effective range for maximum intake/consumption is between 15-25 percent with 15-20 being my preference. You want closer to a 2-1 ration on your cal/phos. Most deer minerals are low on magnesium, especially with the changes from legumes to more brassicas in the food plots. Also most have little to no sulfur. With so many people in sulfur defient areas, if one looked at the trends on forage samples, people wouldn't overlook this area of macro mineral as well. Also many of the flavors on the market appeal to hunters and shoppers but aren't natural to deer.

I've played with many flavors and have even been responsible for formulating and adding various flavors to minerals, even if i didnt agree with the rationale. I will say, i came across much of what i recommend by accident. But, I also have many many smart people in my circle of trust that are scientists, nutritionists, and unbiased reps.

Antler King 20lb mineral bag was just on sale at Fleet Farm for $13.50. That seems like a fair price to me. Todd came up with that formula 25+ years ago, cant be that bad.

Nutrionist= Didn't you use to be associated with Antler King about 2 years ago or am I wrong?

You can PM me if you want to answer.
