i try to find where 2 trails converge( or more!) that is in a nice shady spot, and that is not easily dried out by the sun(you want the mineral lick to stay muddy) i then take a trophy rock and scrape away debris in about a 4' circle. put the trophy rock in the middle and cover the entire cleared area with deer cocaine liquid... this is what ive used for around 3 years now and on my farm, the holes are now getting to about 2' deep and 10' wide

Use the recipe that has been passed around. I used it and it definetely is attracting deer. Here is the recipe that was posted.

2 parts Trace Mineral (red granular)2 bags #100
    1 Part stock salt 1 bag #50
    1 Part Di-Calcium Phosphate 1 Bag #50

Mix it all and use it all at once. Clear a area 6" deep and 36" wide. Pour in the mixture and rake it around in the soil. Deer will hit it. I went from 2 pics a week to pics daily! :)

I use trace mineral blocks and some kind of scent attractant. I scrape out a 3 foot depression in the ground and set the block in the middle, then pour the scented liquid on it.

This is what I use as well. It's esentially 5% mineral. The deer absolutely tear this mixture up. I have 360 acres, and on it I have 5 of these sites. The sites are 3 feet deep and 15 feet wide in ruts. They have literally beaten paths to them. They keep consitently using them from April until late August, then generally they taper off.

I would use Deer Cain in the liquid form... I have tremendous results with this mineral. I put it about 50 yards from the edge of the woodline/field. I clear out about a 3-4ft area and dump the mineral on...It works great.

I actually just got back from the feed store and got my trace mineral blocks for $4.99. Then paid $8.99 for a bottle of deer cain to top it off. Now we got ourselves two licks refreshed for $20.20

I did get the Deer Cain liquid,

I have used it before on my lick and i liked my results. My stump lick pictured below has seen probably every commercial mineral product on the market, and the deer hit it every year without fail.

Ive been re-freshing my stump lick for around 5-6 years now, and they hit it all year round. I just took those pictures today after i got done re-freshing them for this year. The top picture is of a new lick i made for this season.

No need for that just clear an area 3-4 ft and dump your mineral.

Mnbowhunter eventually in time the deer will dig the whole themselves. I would really go with Deer Cain in the liquid form. Give it try, you will not be disappointed.
