I just checked the cam that I had set out on the mineral lick I made this spring I haven't had a cam on it in forever and I'm glad I decided to put a cam on the lick. I got some doe pics and some pics of three different eight points and two of them look identical and they only look like 1 1/2 so there up and coming. I got another pic of another eight with them but I cant tell if he is a shooter or not I would like your guys input on him!!

I don't know the deer in your area to be able to tell you if he's a shooter or not. I can tell you he's not mature yet, so that may be what you are asking. I'd wait 1-2 years on this guy if you are looking for a big buck. They only get big if you let them grow. However that all said...if he's a trophy in your eyes and you want to shoot him then shoot him. You'll know when the deer steps out wether or not he's something you will want to shoot. Good looking pics

On the farm we hunt we hunt we are trying to manage it, so we are only trying to shoot 3 1/2 and older I wasn't sure if he was or not. On the farm we have a lot of up and coming bucks which I'm excited about. And the only thing that sucks is the neighboring property's would not let this buck go and they shoot anything but it is what it is.

I'm in the same situation too. One thing I think about is letting them grow will increase everyones chances, but usually those people that shoot any and everything are just casual hunters looking to fill the freezer and aren't concerned about scent control, entry and exit routes etc. They will have extreme luck on their side if they come across older mature deer unless they are running rampant in your area.
