I've read that some of you use uprooted stumps. How do you do it? Do you stand them up or lay them down? Do you pour the mineral on them or around them? Thanks!!
I leave the stump how I find it if I decide to use it and they pour it on and around the stumb. then pour a water bottle on it to get it to soak in faster
The theory goes that if you put minerals in, on and around a ROTTING stump, they will absorb into the wood and in the dirt around it. It makes the mineral site more natural to deer and the minerals will last longer in the wood then just washing away on the ground. It does work...not a neccesity, but it does work. I have a mineral site on a stump. They are using it heavily right now. I haven't put any mineral on it since about July or August last year.
I just found a tree that uprooted cut it to be bout 3' an then just laid in on its side as it would of uprooted there. Make sure the spot is clear of debris before you put he stump down, put mineral on around an dump a bottle of water on it. I just started mine bout 2 weeks ago an its already bein worked a bit by the deer.
