Hey guys 2 week ago I missed a turkey and 2 days ago I missed a doe low. And I'm frazzled lol. I've never missed anything before. Been hunting 3 years now. And I've made some bad stand choice. With trying to run and gun. Last Monday I hurt my back and I had a couple days off to hunt that week and I couldn't. I find my self punching the trigger. I'm gonna get some practice in. But any advice guys. I'm off 3 days this week. Hope I can put this behind me. Buddy of mine is seeing bucks chasing so I have to be out.
Getting out before you have your problem sorted out is only going to bring you grief. Get in a stand and practice from your normal stand height until you sort it out. Don't be the guy with regrets that wounded a deer knowing full well that something was wrong and didn't do everything in your power to sort it out before shooting at another animal. If you post a thread saying you shot a deer and can't find it at this point, don't blame me if I give you some serious grief over it, lol. If you hurt your back, look closely at your form and make sure you're following through and staying on target through the shot and then make sure your equipment is set where it needs to be. Good luck.
Good advice from Covey. I'd also suggest a little bit of blind bale shooting to help with the trigger punch.
I'm shooting some blind bale tonight. I will pay attention to my form. And I've wound deer in passed years and I don't wanna do it again.
