That's the true conundrum we have today. There are plenty of people that could probably do a great job, but they are all too smart to run.
I graduated HS in 1984 I went to UMD. I had a deal with my parents they paid half I paid half. I worked summers and every break and never went on spring break and never had to take a loan. It simply is not possible now the U of M living in the dorms on the meal plan books and tuition is close to $30,000
Im a teacher and I can agree with what you said about learning more student teaching then the rest of college. I always thought they should cut out those useless classes and increase the amount of student teaching and add in different schools ect, I cant even imagine how much more I would have gotten out of that, back tot opic, im a huge fan of Mike Rowe, there are often times I wonder how I would be doing if instead of doing the college route with a bunch of loans I did the vocational track I always liked working with my hands anyway. I think Mike Rowe is right on
