Im with Aaron, I dont think the salesman was in on it, he was legit scared ****less. Obviously everything else was staged.
My brother actally did that with a ford gt mustage and his 18 year daughter with him and the sellsman. Salesman was not amused but my brother loves telling the story. Btw this brother isn't firing on all cylinders.
It's the same thing as the Kyrie Irving "Uncle Drew" basketball Pepsi Max commercials, which I thought were funnier. Hilarious concept, but setup with people that know something is going on.
The thing that got me was the weird out of place cup holder. It's not there normally. If the salesman saw it he'd question it if he weren't in on it. Sent from iPhone
Also what salesman lets someone take a Pepsi into a brand new sportscar for a test drive? Sent from iPhone
http://www.examiner.com/article/what-happened-behind-the-scenes-of-jeff-gordon-s-pepsimax-prank And the plot thickens ha. Who knows either way its kinda funny to watch the salesmens reactions.
Cool link... We were wondering at work if even a stock ss Camaro, could lay down rubber like that... didn't thinks so...lol
He told the guy his daughter just signed a big modeling career in NY and wanted a nice car to drive up. The guy bought it. The only problem is he tells the story EVERY time you see him and yeah, his daughter is as whacked as him now I've driven with a couple professional drivers on tracks when I was tracking my car myself and even when you KNOW the guy can handle the car you piss yourself. Both times I thought the guy was going to kill himself and take me with him. If you never driven a car at that level you have know idea how fast these guys could drive your wife's mini van around a track. One guy was about 65 and had a loaner Jag at Sebring and asked me it I wanted him to show me the driving line. This big 4 door jag was shaggingass and passing Viper with and porches (sic:-) I thought he was going to kill us but he was so smooth you could of put your pepsi on the dash and it would never of spilt. I say the guy was in on it because I don't care how big of a NASCAR fan you are you would be Pissed and punch JG in the face.
Either way still a valid point. I don't like people having food or drink in my sports car when I had it. I don't think dealerships are too keen on it. Sent from iPhone Sorry for double post I was trying to edit my first one. Sent from iPhone
As I suspected, I just read that the entire thing was a professional production from a company that Will Farrell has ownership in. Done as an advertisement for Pepsi. Chevy did not even make a 2009 Camaro and the one in the film is a 2013. The dealership was in on it and it took about 75 people to produce. The kicker, Jeff Gordon did not even drive the car. If you look at where the car was parked, you can see multiple sets of skid marks from prior takes. So, everyone including the "salseman" was well versed as to what was going on. Still a fun commercial and extremely brilliant marketing.
