guys, I pulled this camera after shooting my doe last night, I shot my doe as she was walking past my stand where this camera is set up.. what do you think of this buck, I have him 3 different nights.. the earliest he comes through here is just after dark.. to me he's a 3.5 with big potential.. 6x6 right now, real good looking deer ... great character with the double browetines.. what do you think guys??? age/score (gonna run my cameras through Jan this year to get a little better inventory of whats out there) hope I find these sheds..
That is one thing we have a lot of out here, split browtines.. very common, yeah this buck is really neat, I like how his right main beam curls up on the end..
Great buck there Troy!! I think I'd call him a 3.5 too. Looks to be a 140+ buck. He's nice this year, next year he'll be outstanding!!!
season is over ... as of today.. Man I am so glad hes alive and I didnt have him come in last night.. THAT would have been very very difficult of a buck to pass up.. I dont think I could have knowing my last night to hunt was last night.. I agree Steve.. he could be amazing next year our bucks with good genes out here tend to jump up about 16-20 inches from 3.5 to 4.5
thats a sweet buck! those splits are gonna help his gross score, looks better than 150 to me. He does kind of look 3.5 but I still wouldn't be surprised if he was a 4.5.
Post-season scouting is my favorite time of year. It's when all the work is done.. and the fun is found in sheds! Very nice buck Troy. I too have actually had a trailcam out these last 4 weeks or so.. although I've got nothing close to that buck on the ground I had it on.. a couple lower grade 2 yr olds is all.. 1 of which I have 7 pics of visiting that same mock scrape. If he casually adds 60" this summer.. he'll be a shooter for sure. I'll be moving it to another property this weekend.. where it will stay about a month. I love this time of year.. just can't wait to go try and pick up some bone to go with the pics!
He's a good looking buck for sure Troy. Not a lot of mass on the antlers, but hard to get a read on age by his body. Not a really good angle, plus he could be kinda run down from the rut. 3.5 might be a good call, but he would be a good one.
I would be very excited to with a buck like that, pretty much knowing he will most likely be there next year. Man those split brows are killer looking, what a buck!
I would say he is 3.5 as well.He is an awfully nice buck,it will be excellent if he adds mass to all the great characteristics he has.
Yup Scot, you've killed enough bucks out here in my mountains to know the big ones here dont put on mass until their 4th and even moreso in their 5th and 6th year. I've been able to compare and contrast my Idaho bucks and hundreds, well actually thousands of sheds from the mid west of ND, and Iowa and if there is one thing I see when handling and going through my buddys sheds and racks...is that their midwestern ground/ag really puts the mass on bucks a full year ahead of what I see out in my mountain bucks.. its like they are a year behind out here .. Hope I find this guys sheds he looks to be a solid mid 130 class buck gross.. not bad for a 3.5 here..
