I would like to ride a horse again, I haven't done so for around 10 years, since I broke my back.

    Luckily I can still walk.

No one around where we live will let me do so, as I weigh 280lbs.

Is 280 really bad to be riding a horse?

If so, what do I need to get down too?

Find a real big horse or maybe a hooker. LOL

Around here there are all sorts of stables and riding schools with a variety of horse sizes. I would think someone would be glad to have a new student. BUT, since you used to ride.... maybe you're not willing to pay??? A horse can handle you.

Where we live is quite a horsey area.

But the riding schools tend to use Arabian cross breads.

I have no problem with paying, if I can just find somewhere.
