Every time I have been out this week I find new rubs/scrapes. Everything is still nocturnal on the cams but with this pretty strong cold front coming through Illinois tonight I think things are about to get popping! It's the most, wonderful time, oooof the yeaaar!
I've seen several new Rubs and scrapes in the last couple days. Cold front is coming through Oklahoma Tomorrow/Thursday. And I just happen to be off those two days! CAn't wait!
I've been seeing rubs, but no scrapes here is So IL, plus I've been asking around and no one else has found any scrapes yet.
Found a few new scrapes this weekend. Sunday night saw a buck chasing a doe when I was getting out of my stand. That is the only activity I have seen. I think it is very close too. It was getting towards dark and lightning was getting closer. Had to leave big metal lightning rod I was sitting in. Planning on not working Friday so I can have 3 full days in the stand if needed. I saw a buck chasing a doe already this weekend and now with this cold front and rain coming through, I think I'm going to be sick on Friday.
Deer movement seems to have picked up nicely the last couple of days. Had a small buck pestering (and grunting like CRAZY) about 6 does the other night and had a spike look like he was cruisin last night. My buddy has seen about 30 deer this week as well.
