If you had the choice of taking a week of vacation in the first half of November, which week would you pick?

The week of 11/1-11/9, or 11/8-11/16?

 Yeah I have the exact same decision, with the same dates. Been thinking about it for a couple of weeks now.

The dates kind of stack sucky with the weekends this year. It seems you are either a tad early or a tad late if you want to incorporate a weeks vacation into two weekends.

Definitely the second week. Even a few days later, if I had the choice.

Yep. It's usually the second week of November here. However last year it was almost the end of November before it was really good.

The second week is actually when I have a week of vacation scheduled. But that being said I also have a 4 day weekend planned for Oct 31st-Nov 3rd.

1st or 2nd both are good by me, and it seems to switch between the 2 weeks every year.

According to trail cam pics of mature bucks during mid day and subtracting 222 days from when fawns are born, it would appear peak breeding is later in November than earlier

I took the 1st week last year and shot my buck Nov 4th. Pre rut had just started. I should have taken the 2nd week as it was much better.

I voted for the first week. I always seem to see more movement then. My Dad lives in Ohio and has narrowed it down to Nov. 7th as being the day that he consistently sees an abundance of deer activity all through the day. Last year here in Missouri, I missed a huge buck that chased off 2 smaller 8 pointers and was trailing a doe on November 8th. Our rifle season starts on or about November 15th every year and I always feel that the rut is on the downhill slide by then. If not the rut itself, deer activity is down from what it usually is the first week in November.
