I've always referred to 150 class trucks as full sized, and 250-350 series as 1 ton pickups. Just the normal lingo for where I grew up in Kentucky. Compact or midsized doesn't really matter to me.
I had 2004 Chevy Colorado 3.5L straight 5 cylinder crew cab white. I loved that little truck. Bought it brand new off the lot. I had to get rid of it because engine would not pass emissions. 5 grand to fix the problem or 3 grand for a newer engine or just trade it in. We trade it in for a car but I would still buy another one, especially when the little diesels come out. 30 mpg+++++
Anybody have any luck with Dakotas? I have a line on a 2007 crew cab, with V8, with 52kmiles for cheap. Any thoughts?
I've only ever owned a v6 Magnum 99' and it ran great for me honestly but I'm not that hard on vehicles. Never really tested it's towing abilities either though.
I drove Fords all my life.... until i started driving Toyotas. I drive a tundra now but had a tacoma. Couldnt hurt it. I would say Tacoma. Plus theh hold their value like no other.
Yeah, I love Toyotas that I've driven (never owned) but fact is the freaking Tacomas are hard to find in my area and with that comes a premium, not an invalid premium because in the mid-sized trucks they definitely are arguably the best there is.
Ill sell you my GMC Sierra, known as 50 Shades of Green It will do a lot more than a Toyota, as long as its running
Yup, hard to come by around here also. Theres a reason for that.... no one wants to get rid of em! Lol
Still loving it, just got her all purtied up with new wheels and tires, almost ready for hunting season.
Found a topper for mine. Just in time for hunting season. Still love my truck Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G890A using Tapatalk
fishsoft92 has a 2005 /V8/4x4 that hasn't had any big problems. Just normal maintainance stuff. Never had issues with power. Currently doesn't get driven and is looking to sell.
Off topic. Not a Taco but I traded the Tactical prius for a 2000 4runner. Amazing offroad ability for being almost entirely stock. The biggest downside, both my hunting partners are 6' 3" and if I get a little too enthusiastic going over rocks and washouts, they hit their heads. I swear I don't do it on purpose. Bwahahaha. How's the headroom in those tacomas?
I'm looking at a Dakota but I need something that can tow at least 7000lbs Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
You need something bigger than a Dakota then. Something that can control that weight. My 4runner is rated to tow 5,000lbs. But I would want trailer brakes on anything that heavy. The stock brakes just can't handle that much weight for long. Even my 2500hd had boiling brake fluid by time I made it down the mountain pass hauling 7500lbs (no trailer brakes). That was exciting.
Nice! I love those runners. There isn't much head room in the Tacoma's either. Plus everyone that rides in mine usually hits their head getting in and out.
