I alternate between using a Cabela's wooltimate vest and a Cabela's wooltimate 2 button mid-layer (it is now no longer available) depending on the temps. However, I am curious as to what everyone else uses as a mid-layer for cold weather stand hunts. I am looking to see if I can improve on what I am currently using. Thanks for the help.

My favorite insulating layer (not speaking of base layers) is the Kelvin vest and pant by Sitka.

I'm simple...when it gets cold enough that it's time to add a mid-layer, I often put on a pair of fleece "pajama" pants between my base layer and my outer layer. Seems to add enough loft to help keep the heat in and provide a little more separation between my cold outer layer and base layer when the wind starts whipping.
