For those of you who are really not doing this yet when will you start?
I will be starting my all days sits next Friday the 24th as I feel that last week
of OCT is something special where I hunt.
This will mostly occur on Fridays which I have the freedom to do this.

I usually start no later than Halloween. Seems from then to the first week and a half of November here in Minnesota has been good to me.

Right around the first of November is when I usually start. Some very long and tiring days are ahead of us.

I usually start sitting all day right around Halloween. Once the chasing phase gets going here in Wisconsin it's hard to not be out in the woods at all times during the day. A big buck can come busting past your stand at any moment and you have to be out there for a chance to get him.

Last year I began taking a book out to the woods with me to keep my occupied during certain times of the day. Last year I finished the LL Bean book about the history of the company. It seemed like a great way to pass the time in the woods. I'd read for a half hour then watch the woods for awhile.

Of course if I heard anything I would have to slowing put the book away and keep watch.

I figure that if having a book to read keeps me out in the woods all day it can't be all that bad of a tactic.

I will be sitting all day next weekend! I have a several hour drive and it is a 1 day hunt so since I have no where to go during the day just going to take advantage of it. Hopefully it pays off.

If the corn is down by the 23rd I'll start all day hunts depending on weather and temps.

I will start sitting all day next weekend. I have a few spots that I will likely sit till 1-2pm, and then move to another spot and then set for the rest of the day.

I'm hoping to start this week. I usually wait till November but I'm going to give It a try a tad earlier and see what happens.

Like the others have said Halloween & on. This weekend coming up will likely be all day sits too. I should have probably done so last Saturday, but I took a break 11-3. It was a bright sunny day, I figured I didn’t miss much.

Good luck there Ferg. I've heard that the rut should start here in Wi the last wk of Oct to 1st wk of Nov this yr. I'll start sitting then. I am watching to see if the second full moon of the fall equinox coensides w/the rut. I read a yr or two ago about that theory. That this guy studied deer in captivity & in the wild w/cams, & both were in the rut come the 2nd full moon. Just food for thought. My problem is actually finding time to spend a whole day. That ususally only happens when I go up North for a week.

I start this weekend. In my area they tend to start the last week of Oct. I may hunt one stand in the am then another for a few hours then move for the pm. However I may sit all day in one stand if the movement is good and by the 5th I can be in one maybe two stands all day.
