Did a quick search but couldn't find anything on this. So here's my question.

Was wondering if anybody uses the micro SD cards with the adapter in their trail cams and then takes the Micro SD out of the adapter and puts the micro into their phone to view the pics in the field? Is this even possible? I'm not sure if it is possible or not but if it is I wanna know because that's the route I will take when getting more SD cards for my cam instead of buying full size SD cards.

    Good question.

I've been wondering the same thing for a couple years now. Same goes with my Contour Roam. Wanted to watch video this spring while we waited for the next push of snows but didn't want to chance it and ruin good footage.

I do it all the time! Makes sitting in the stand more exciting. Especially since I have 300-3000 pictures to look through.

I've been trying an iPhone the last month though. Can't wait to get rid of it and have an android with the micro sd card slot again.

I definitely recommend doing this. Kills boring afternoons of all day sits.

Thanks. Yeah I was hoping it was possible. I have a Droid RAZR that has the micro SD and will definitely go that route. AWESOME!!! :D

There is an adaptor or something that works for the iPhone. I pretty sure Fitz has one that he uses. Hopefully he can chime in and help you out.

You would think Apple would add this feature to their phone. Why they feel the need to limit the amount of capable storage on their devices is beyond me. I have used the micro sd in the adapter in my cameras, but never tried to check them on my phone. It's a great idea though.

I just found a good deal on a brand new 2x(4gb) Sandisk Micro SD cards and adapters combo on eBay for $14.95 shipped. I think these are gonna be awesome for my new trail cam adventures. :)

That's why Apple does that. So that you have to buy an adapter and spend more money. Lol

I use an AirStash (the 1.0 version) with my iPhone. My brother has the plug-in reader.

I'm sure it would be the same thing. Its basically just playing what ever data you have on the card.

Ultramax, i tried it once a few years ago. you gotta be careful because i stuck the adapter with the micro sd in it into my camera and couldnt get it out of the camera a few weeks later. the adapter was a little snug putting it in but didnt think much of it, and when i went to retreeive it, i couldnt get it out. I ended up damaging my camera and the unnamed company wiouldnt help me fix it. so it was a waste of money for that camera.

Be carefull what you get. I have purchased 2 online so far, one for my sons ipad and one for my iphone. Neither one worked. They both said apple doesnt recognize the device and wont support it. Both came shipped directly from China, imagine that! The desctiption on both websites clearly stated they would work on apple devices. I'm gonna try and order the one Fitz uses now. Oh, and the companies response to my negative feedback was "what can we do to make up for it?" When I said to send another one that actually does what it says, I never heard from them again.

I do this all the time. I have an android phone with a microSD slot as well as a tablet i bought for $79 on amazon also with an microslot. Its a lot faster to look at the pictures and cheaper than buying a sd card viewer that they sell.
