I received an email today and am trying to figure out if its valid. Read the quote that came with it and look at the pictures. Do the tags look like MI tags?

    Figured you could help Gary.

Do they change the color of the tags every year?

At first I thought it was a picture from Anticosti Island, but the racks were too big for there.

Yep this year's tags are orange, if Photobucket worked I would show you.

Isn't Photobucket working for you? I posted these pics with Photobucket.

If the picture is indeed from St Martin Island, there must be a pretty large population of deer out there. Look on Google Earth, its only 2.4 x 1.3 miles at its widest spots.

    Yep! Definately Michigan tags.

I get a ton of emails and the bogus ones are usually easy to pick out. This one had me stumped.

    Thanks Gary!

Sob is right, if that story is legit, hopefully they will never be able to purchase another deer tag.

Those bucks are all nearly the exact same size. If I read that right, half the deer hanging are legal, correct?

Too bad the b-stards apparently don't care if they have tags or not. HUGE fine and toss them in the clink for 6 months. IMO:mad:

the green rope looks to be fake and doesn't line up with the racks very well

I scoured the internet for awhile and the only mention I can find of this island in conjunction with deer hunting or poaching is this exact same email on numerous forums. Nothing from any credible sources like the DNR, newspapers, etc.

Leads me to believe it's most likely not the correct story to go with the photo.
