how many people are out there from michigan? i am located about 30 minutes east from lansing, and i dont know about any of you guys, but trying to find hunting property has been a very difficult thing for me. I have litterly spent days driving around knocking on doors and i have posted adds trying to find some and even been checking every web site possible it seems like. But it seems to be the same answer every time, nope we hunt or its already leased out. How many other people are having this problem to? and also if any one has any leads or advice!!
I do know you poor trolls gotta head up north and get on the public lands for the most part -forest service or timber co lands. Just make sure you stay below the bridge or at least in the Easter half of the yoop...we're already overrun with FIBs, Trolls, Mudducks, and Cheeseheads over here...and in that order for the rifle season. Just glad WI has thier season basically same time as we do or there'd be alot more of them...they got bigger bucks over that side of the border to so....
haha ya i hear you on all that i would like to stay down here on the farm lands anyways, im not much into traveling 12 hrs up there to state land to see more hunters then deer. if i was gonna drive 12 hours i would head to the mid west
People from WI leave WI to hunt in MI?????? Ive not heard of such a thing. Who would do that for those tiny racked MI deer?????
the ones who don't want to see another guy sitting in a tree 80yds away and another and another and another and another and another oh yeah and the ones who want to gun hunt that extra week before WI rifle starts up
OHHH come on dont start ripping on are deer haha we have some good ones to there just a lil bit more far and inbetween i have seen quite a few 140 class deer but those 150 160 170 and so on are just far inbetween
I think WI annually gets about 2000 MI gun deer hunters. I dont how many hunters from WI would go to MI but I suppose stranger things happen.
Ever been to the U.P.?...I can actually walk all day and not cut another persons track in fresh snow...just have to make the effort to get away from the crowds and expect to see less deer...And these aren't tame, tender, cornfed, farm raised animals either(except for all the does I shoot at home here). This is where I live: looking south from the house looking north over top of the house and property
I am in WI at least every other day but usually more like 5 out of 7 for the week....You Do have Large Bucks and Lotsa Horns on them to. BTW on my way to Presque Isle WI in about an hr...so will be there in about 1.5 hrs
How fortunate for you. Lots of people dont get to discover pure WI and only read about it in hunting magazines that feature big bucks. Consider yourself very fortunate.
LOL - I'm a goin' to 'Wisconsins last wilderness' yipee! to work on a cabin for a millionaire from Chicago(one of many there) - yahoo!
Rancid what are you doing? We all know Wi is no good. If I were them I would stay as far away as possible.
You are correct. All the "FIBS" and "mud ducks" are much better off huting in their states and stay the heck out of WI. There is nothing to see here. Sure, stop by every so often and leave once your wallet is empty. Thanks. Come again, when you cant stay so long.
im not looking for public land to hunt on though i dont want to have to deal with all the other hunters and i am looking for property to manage my deer heard
I hunt in Mason county and no problem with other hunters if you are willing to work a bit. The buck in my profile came off state land in Mason county. Good luck with your land hunt.
That's pretty good one for state land and I have 700 acres to hunt but u can never have to much land to hunt
Love the comments - I was born a Northern Troll, then several years in Copper Harbor area of U.P. (great spot but deer are small), then some time in Madison (miserable darn place for a hunter, nasty libs everywhere) - Now I am a FIB and hunt Southern IL - massive bucks and fat does!! Far as I can tell the WI deer move to Southern IL to get big!!
