how many people are out there from michigan? i am located about 30 minutes east from lansing, and i dont know about any of you guys, but trying to find hunting property has been a very difficult thing for me. I have litterly spent days driving around knocking on doors and i have posted adds trying to find some and even been checking every web site possible it seems like. But it seems to be the same answer every time, nope we hunt or its already leased out. How many other people are having this problem to? and also if any one has any leads or advice!!

I do know you poor trolls gotta head up north and get on the public lands for the most part -forest service or timber co lands. Just make sure you stay below the bridge or at least in the Easter half of the yoop...we're already overrun with FIBs, Trolls, Mudducks, and Cheeseheads over here...and in that order for the rifle season. Just glad WI has thier season basically same time as we do or there'd be alot more of them...they got bigger bucks over that side of the border to so....

I think WI annually gets about 2000 MI gun deer hunters. I dont how many hunters from WI would go to MI but I suppose stranger things happen.

Ever been to the U.P.?...I can actually walk all day and not cut another persons track in fresh snow...just have to make the effort to get away from the crowds and expect to see less deer...And these aren't tame, tender, cornfed, farm raised animals either(except for all the does I shoot at home here).

    This is where I live:

How fortunate for you. Lots of people dont get to discover pure WI and only read about it in hunting magazines that feature big bucks. Consider yourself very fortunate.

You are correct. All the "FIBS" and "mud ducks" are much better off huting in their states and stay the heck out of WI. There is nothing to see here. Sure, stop by every so often and leave once your wallet is empty. Thanks.

Come again, when you cant stay so long.

I would say head about 3 hours north to the Cadillac / Traverse city area. plenty of public land.

I hunt in Mason county and no problem with other hunters if you are willing to work a bit. The buck in my profile came off state land in Mason county. Good luck with your land hunt.

Love the comments - I was born a Northern Troll, then several years in Copper Harbor area of U.P. (great spot but deer are small), then some time in Madison (miserable darn place for a hunter, nasty libs everywhere) - Now I am a FIB and hunt Southern IL - massive bucks and fat does!! Far as I can tell the WI deer move to Southern IL to get big!!
