Im going to do it **gasp** :d

Just for fun, im going to compare Jordan and Lebron at this stage in their career's. I know they play different positions, but the different in guard/point-forward isnt too drastic. I took out Jordan's 18 game 1985 season because of injury (sue me).

Micheal Jordan (After winning NCAA championship of course):

    Year 1: 28/6/7
    Year 3: 37/5/5
    Year 4: 35/6/6
    Year 5: 33/8/8
    Year 6: 34/6/7
    Year 7: 32/6/6

    Average: 33/6/7

    Awards:

    5 PER crowns
    5 scoring titles
    2 steal titles
    6 all star games
    5 all NBA first team
4 all NBA first team defense
    Rookie of the Year
    All Star Game MVP
    Defensive Player of the Year
    2 MVPs
    Finals MVP
    1 Championship

Lebron James (After 3 state championships):

    Year 1: 21/6/6
    Year 2: 27/7/7
    Year 3: 31/7/7
    Year 4: 27/6/7
    Year 5: 30/7/8
    Year 6: 28/7/8

    Average: 27/7/7

    Awards:

    2 PER crowns
    1 scoring title
    3 all NBA first team
1 all NBA first team defense
    5 all star games
    2 all star game MVP's
    Rookie of the Year
    1 MVP

    Prognosis:

After 6 full seasons in the NBA, Jordan averaged an out of this world 33/6/7 while Lebron James pulls in a highly respectable 27/7/7. Jordan already established himself as the best scorer in the league, and maybe even the best "on the ball" defender. Jordan notched him with 2 MVP's to Lebron's 1, and also made the All NBA First Team 2 more times then James. He also had an NBA championship while Lebron has a Finals loss.

    Edge: Jordan, by FAR

Chance of Lebron bettering Jordan in the future: Slim to none

    Case closed.

Couldn't an argument be made that Jordan had superior talent around him compared to Lebron?

Not in the first 6 years. I think Pippen came around 89-90, Jordan's first true running mate (Horace Grant possibly?). But the early Bulls were all Jordan.

too hard to tell! i like to give mj his props... with that being said a couple of buddies of mine say king james is every bit of 6'9" and well over the 240lbs or whatever they have him listed at, more like 270!!!!! what he does at that height/weight is just soooooo impressive to me. would be a sweet matchup though!!!

Or the fact that instead of being just a one man show... Jordan made his team better.

How about the intangibles... leadership, heart, determination...

    That's the difference.

    Oh...

When I first read it, I thought it read "but the different in point guard/power forward isn't too drastic".

I thought "WTF, this guy doesn't know crap".

    I see your point now.

    And I agree.
