I don't know if Sam has enough talent and size to make it as his position but I do know I'm SICK of hearing about him. He's gay, we get it, now lets hear about guys that weren't drafted in the 7th freaking round.
For the sake of my sanity, I hope people just move along from this story. The gay jokes are already becoming annoyingly overused.
I hope the Rams sign incognito. Then Hard Knocks would be there for sure. Stephan A. Smith said he would have been a 2nd or 3rd rounder if he wasn't gay. I've said it before...This charade is a joke. I was raised in an atmosphere where homesexuality is wrong, and now that I'm an adult I understand why. What's next? The big 3 American sports have already made it clear that cheating is okay, that drug use is only good for a slap on the wrist, that dog torturing is okay, that getting drunk and running somebody over is okay, and now being homesexual, flaunting it and making a charade out of it is also okay. Where are the morals? (Waiting for Hookers "people can do whatever they want and large corporations can profit in any way they want" reply) Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
What position will he play? He's small for DE and slow for LB. He had some good performances vs inferior teams but kind of disappeared vs the good teams they played.
I hear ya. Professional athletes definitely aren't anything that I would want any kids of mine idolizing. It's all become one big soap opera. It's reasons like you stated that I watch any sports less and less. And what's really sad is that hunting is following the same lines. Everybody trying to make a name for themselves in any way they can.
Hunting is no different. People sleeping around, poaching, cheating, hiding corn behind logs in non-baiting states. Anything to get the edge...will be done. Just ask Marc Anthony (insert Barry Bonds, Lance Armstrong, Patriots Spygate, Tim Donaughy...even Pete Rose).
I hope you really don't think that there have been ZERO gay NFL players since it's creation... They obviously didn't come out until they retired, does that mean they weren't gay while playing? Players who have came out: Wade Davis NFL Defensive back Kwame Harris NFL Offensive tackle David Kopay NFL Running back Ray McDonald NFL Running back Michael Sam NFL Defensive end Roy Simmons NFL Guard Jerry Smith* NFL Tight end Esera Tuaolo NFL Defensive tackle
Sam is just trying to cash in. You all might not like it, but people are still talking about it. That is why he is all over the news. You complain that you want it to go away, yet there have been 2 threads about this on this board in the last week.
That D line is rock solid, no doubts there. The Rams problem is other Sam is the QB, so they are at best a 3rd place team in the NFC West. I still say Sam makes the team.
I'm just pointing out that the reason this IS a story is because no one has ever been up front about it before.... The story is being blown out of proportion, but acting like it shouldn't be talked about at all is nearly as ridiculous. Stephen A Smith is an idiot though. As are most sports broadcasters/analysts.
Sam's kiss was "brave?" Villanueva has a Bronze Star - now THAT'S brave. | Allen B. West - AllenBWest.com Here's a good story that I think most people missed.
I never said I want it to go away, I understand we are going to hear about this more than we want. I brought this thread up because if he wants to make an NFL roster I think all of his time should be working on making the team. He isn't going to make it if his main concern is to be known as a gay football player. Wouldn't it be best for him and the gay community if he worked hard made the team and showed that the fact that he is gay doesn't affect how he plays or how he gets along with his teammates?
It is very sad that I and many others never heard of this man. Our society ignore the green beret, and idolize the pink beret.
I'm anxious to see if the Rams have the balls to cut him if his football ability is lacking enough to make the 52 man roster. "Live Life at Full Draw"
Richie started his career in St. Louis and I promise you he'll never put on a Rams uniform again. Been there, done that. I'll be glad when the talk is about football again, if we ever get back to that.
