When do all you Michiganders think the rut is going to begin here in Michigan? Last year I feel the rut started a week before gun opener where I was (southern MI), a lot of chasing behavior witnessed within that week. I didn't see a shooter buck until after Halloween last year.
Same as every year probably. what I have noticed and from cameras the last few years Actual rut (breading) seems to really kick in around the Nov. 6th pre rut (seeking, ect) kicks in around the Oct. 23rd
Fellow Michiganders, yes general rule is late October is seeking and a magical time, peak rut Nov. 7-20th or so depending. Just be in the woods during that time! www.soundbarrierhunting.com
Last fall i shot a 3.5 Y/O buck on November 17th. He came in with 2 does and was attempting to breed one of them. I'd say peak will be right around November 15th.
