Got pics of this buck last Thanksgiving. At first I thought he was just a late cruiser, moving through, but he lived the rest of the winter on our farm. He was very nocturnal, but was living there nonetheless. When I first saw him on the cam, my old man was sitting next to me. I quietly under my breath said "Jesus he's a good one". After that, my dad started called him Jesus (Like the Hispanic name, not like Christ). Anyways....fast forward to this year. He wasn't around. Actually no big deer were really around for the 2nd year in a row. Before hunting this afternoon I went to set up a ground blind for my dad, who is limited to crossbow hunting and field edge blinds that he can drive to after a stroke in '09. I got the blind brushed in and checked a camera that was on a scrape line. And guess who showed up a year later, and a little bigger!!! The first pic is of him last year. The 2nd pic is this year. He is actually a 6x5, his left brow is split at the base, but you can't tell from the angle.
Great lookin buck man. He did get a little bigger so good luck. Hopefully the next pic will have you holding him by the antlers!
