I,m having a new string and cables put on my bow,Its at the shop now and will be done wednesday.while its there i,m having a new peep installed. I got a Meta Peep.So my question is that most strings stretch and settle in,am i gonna have trouble with alignment. Is this a decent peep. If there is going to be issues,i,d rather use one with the rubber tubing. I realize all strings are different but generally speaking. Just want to find out before its put in.
I would never use one with a rubber tube. Way to easy to hook it on a branch or bush on your way into the woods and you might not even know that it broke till you are about to draw on a deer. Then if you retie it from the stand you are changing the setup of your bow which could very easily cause you to be off. That was the first thing I did with every bow I have purchased for myself, girlfiend and daughters! Good choice with the Meta peep!
Meta peeps are great. I hated my tube. It was noisy and broke too often, one time back towards my face. I haven't had any problems with my Meta. If you do get a little rotation after shooting in your string, you can fix it with your d-loop.
Well said. We at Inner X back that up with a 6mo warranty. Have shot many many meta peeps over the years; great peeps.
Yep, depends on the quality of the string being put on. Good strings won't creep or stretch, which is the number one cause of peep rotation. Problem is, most shops, at least around here, use cheap strings that give fits with peep sights. I have been using a G5 peep for a few years and have no complains. Its idential to the Fletcher peep, but made of magnesium which is a bit lighter material. I used the Fletcher for years and like it as well.
I just got done putting on custom strings\cables on two of my bows... Neither one of them rotated at all and didn't change after breaking the string in - my 'string maker' pre-streteches the string under like 300lbs of tension.... As mentioned by the others, a good quality string shouldn't rotate...
USe the meta. If the string hasnt been shot, it will creep a little. If you have a chance, make some shots without the peep in first to get the strings to settle a bit more. Even with a great string, there should usually be some twisting/untwisting during the tuning process and the string will need to be resettled. If you arent doing the work yourself, have the peep put in and go shoot it. 50 shots or so later have the peep readjusted and it should be good to go from there.
I put a meta peep on my my z7x with factory strings and no shots through it and have had no problems with rotation or the peep creeping out of place. Lose the rubber tubing!

Meta Peep is a great peep imo....I have new winner's choice strings and I have had some rotation but not much...
Changed peep sight My Trophy Ridge (plastic) sight broke and fell off the bow and landed right between my feet. Cheap is as cheap does. Went to Precision Archery here in San Diego. Got new Cobra 5 pin sight, no-name peep with tube and a replacement biscuit. Shot a few 20 yard arrows under the eye of the Bob, the pro, who helped a lot with setting the sight, and discovered my biscuit was worn out. He also installed the peep very inexpensively. Went to my regular outdoor range and shot for an hour without any kind of a group and without hitting a single 9 inch paper plate at 30 meters. Arrows going everywhere. Houston, we have a problem. Shooting was like work. Difficult to see anything, painful to hold (?) on target. In desperation, I shortened my draw length by one inch, which was like magic. The fun came back and I was grouping 5 inches again. I found out the difficult way that you cannot shoot a bow with the wrong draw length, and it's almost embarrassing how long it took me to figure it out. It's just amazing to me that changing a peep sight can change draw length that much. I didn't have the right size allen wrench yesterday, so I'm going back to the range to finish tuning the new sight for windage. I like this little inexpensive 5-pin sight. It's lighted, which is new to me. 5 pins obscure a lot of target, so I think I am going to remove 2 pins. And there is no plastic. The tube type peep is sweet. Here's another vote for not getting the RTH package. It's $100 for $40 worth of the cheapest accessories the company offers. Bob Riess, San Diego
Definitely go with a tubeless bud. I had a tube on mine, it worked well enough, but then it kept dry rotting on me, I got fed up with it and switched to a tubeless, it was just a small random one in the shop. Not to bump in on your post bud, but I was curious about the peep size as well, I use a smaller peep at the moment, and I get extremely tight groups, but I have been looking into the Meta peep as well and wondered if you as well as the other guys posting on here use a little bit larger size peep for more light and if it effects grouping of shots? Was just curious, and hopefully if anyone responds to this it will help you out too bud, good luck!
