Has anyone else read the blog article about mentoring a new hunter posted today (8-14-15). I think it's a really good idea and it could be a lot of fun. I have "mentored" a few new hunters in the past. The first was my older cousin in his 30's. He hunted with a shot gun but my Dad and I taught him how to archery hunt, how to scout and how to process his harvest. He was hooked immediately and has been hunting for the last few years and been successful in filling the freezer. The second is my wife's cousin. He is 15 and he to has gun hunted in the past. This year I brought him to BHOD GTG and he was hooked immediately. He was already planning our next 3D shoot on our ride home. I'll be working with him more this fall when we can get into the woods and actually harvest some deer. It is a lot of fun mentoring new hunters and sharing the excitement of there first experiences as a hunter. Have any of you guys mentored a new hunter or would you be up for the challenge? I know I would be willing to help out a few more people in my area! Simple duplication blog
Very good article and good for you for passing it on. If we don't, eventually it will wither away. I don't foresee that happening though thank God!!
