I was sitting around my apartment a couple days ago watching the Outdoor Channel when I realized that there are not a lot of hunts for underprivileged, orphaned, or handicap kids around South Dakota. I went on a pheasant hunt one time with kids in wheelchairs but as far as I know there is nothing for deer hunting weather it be bow or a smoke stick. I was hoping I would be able to find somebody that knows how I could go about starting something along this line or even motivating somebody that lives in or coming to SoDak to do something like this. I am an avid hunter as I'm sure 99% of you on here are. Call me crazy but I get just as much excitement watching somebody else bag a deer as I would if I shot it myself. I wonder what would happen if some people on here started a mentor group and took one weekend a month to take a kid deer hunting, I know from experience that it would make them happy. Thoughts on this would be taken with an open mind, and thanks.
I've shared with my wife many a time that IF we ever win the lotto or something crazy happens and we have a lot of money...I have always dreamed of opening an Outfitters for Handicapped/Underpriveledged/Orphaned. Other hunters would only be able to hunt late season after prime time has come and gone.
