A possible win of a lifetime for a lottery pool players. Is turning into one of the greediest employee of McDonalds. A Maryland McDonald's employee who claims to have one of the winning Mega Millions tickets is now serving Quarter Pounders with a supersized side of selfish. According to the New York Post, Mirlande Wilson bought tickets as part of the restaurant's lottery pool, but claims that the winning numbers are on a ticket she purchased separately. After the numbers were announced on Friday night, Wilson called several coworkers to say "I won!" using, the Post noted, "the first person singular." (Apparently purchased at the Baltimore 7-Eleven pictured.) Needless to say her fellow Big Mac-makers aren't lovin' it ... although there's a chance Wilson doesn't even have the winner ("Some of the numbers were familiar," was all she would say) which would make for even more awkwardness in the McKitchen. There's several stories online about lottery pools in which this happened. One the judge ruled in favor of the pool another the judge ruled in favor of the ticket holder of the lottery pool. I'm always happy when a group of workers hit it big, but when I read stories like this. Nothing good will become of this behavior.
For the sake of her 7 children I hope she got something beyond 5 minutes of unclaimed fame. And the trust of fellow co-workers. Not to mention the lost of her minimal wage job.
