I suppose I would go, and not just because it would be "cool" to see the White House. I, like a lot of others, have no respect for him as a person. He is is the President of the United States, though, and whether you like it or not or whether you'll admit it or not, the holder of that position commands respect simply because he was elected and holds position. Then there's the military mentality that I still seem to be having trouble leaving behind. I spent all of my life between the ages of 17 and 46 following orders and showing proper respect for authority. I've had Chiefs, division officers, department heads, XO's and CO's that were the biggest A-holes you could possibly meet, but you treated them with respect even if they deserved none. That's literally the way I grew up. To my way of thinking President Obama might just be the greatest danger this country has faced in a long, long time, but he is still the President of the United States of America. Yeah, I'd go. As much as I dislike his policies, beliefs and actions, I would go.
All you have to do is win the democratic or republican candidate spot by getting or producing the most donations and having a decent political background, after that you LEGIT have a 50/50 chance of being "The most powerful man" in the world. Most Americans have never even heard of the presidential nod before he shows up in the commercials (THAT IS A FACT HOOKER). Its not like it used to be, thats for sure.
To me he is no different than any other politician. All crooked. Thus ill meet him if given the chance, I dont have feelings one way or the other in politics, I just go with the flow, no use getting worked up in something you really can't control.
You think he is just another politician and I think he has set out to destroy the very fiber of what made this country the greatest country on earth. I despise everything he stands for and symbolizes. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using Tapatalk 2
He really hasn't done that much. I have many liberal friends that hate him because they find him to be too moderate.
Obviously not easy, but doesn't mean i want to meet the person who can do it (That is what were debating correct?)
I will say it again... NO I would not want to meet him. The stuff this President has done to garner future votes for his party sickens me.
What would he if he had both the house and the senate. He jammed the health care debacle through when he had that. He would destroy this country if he had his way and I truly believe that. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using Tapatalk 2
President Obama is the new cool guy President. Hey guys Im cool like you, vote for me. I hate that he has changed the way our President is viewed. Our President needs to be feared on some level, not beloved by everyone.
This is a great thread. Very intersting to read. Me personally I couldn't. I understand the people saying the experience would be fun. But I couldn't stand face to face with this guy, he doesn't deserve my time of day.
I just have no desire to meet the president. No desire to tour the parts of he Whithouse they allow you to see. Besides didnt Obama stop the tours ? Are the open again ? If I went to DC I think I'd spend my time at Arlington and see The Tomb Of the unknown soldiers They did more and gave far more for this country than Obama ever will The only thing Obama will be remembered for and go down in history for is being the First black president It will be for no great accomplishment on his part
Previously I said I would because of the respect for the office. Going a little further, here's why I would do it. I run a construction company, we are a small business of 6 employees and I am the only one that does any sort of office work. From that perspective, anytime I get a chance to meet a person of power, whether it be the CEO of a company of 25 people on up the POTUS - I would jump at it just from the prospective of seeing what makes them tick, see their personalities and attitudes, see how they treat people and their overall demeanor. Ultimately try to learn something. To that end, whether you love or hate him - you have to respect the climb to the biggest office in the world, then ultimately being the CEO of the biggest business in the world. Anyone who thinks its easy is fooling themselves, the position is occupied by one person out of 300 million Americans (I realize they are not all eligible to be POTUS but you get the point). As much as I disagree with his policies (and I do), I'm sure I could learn something if given the chance to sit down with him.
Should he be feared by his own people? Should he start a war so people fear him? Every here realizes we do not have money for a war. Nobody feared Bush or Clinton, in fact Ronald Reagan was the last fear president we had. He did it by just being the President.
And he was the last great president this country has had. He inspired people, complete opposite of Obama. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using Tapatalk 2
