Hi guys, new member here, been prowlin for a week or so taking in knowledge and I must say there is a lot of it. Looking to take a deer with a bow this year on Dungannon WMA, 740 acres of archery only public land 15 minutes from my house. I recently traded a kayak I wasn't using for a PSE Beast (60lb) /w a bdoodle(sp?) rest, a savage any angle sight, quiver, dozen easton arrows, and accessories. My shooting wrist is kinda beat up from years of skateboarding and I have great difficulty drawing the bow with the release. I can draw it fine till my muscles crap out off the string, but more no more then once or twice with the release without my wrist feeling like it's coming out of socket. Is there some trick to pulling with the release that I don't know or am I just up the creek? My accuracy is fine shooting off the string out to maybe 30 yards, I can group 3 arrows into about a 4" circle. Shooting at 30 with the release when I've been able to do 2 shots they've been nearly on top of each other. Does this seem good enough for taking a live target or do i need to dial it in a bit better? Thanks, Graham
try a hand release it wont have a strap but sound like you need to do lots of practice before takeing an animial
A hand release might be the ticket. It lines up all the muscles in your forearm w/ your hand. You can also inplore the back tension release technique which helps w/ trigger slapping. More and more people are using them. I just made the switch this past off season and really like the TRU Ball pro diamond I'm using.
I had the same problem and made a release. I used a free flight glove and a cobra release. If you are interested i will make you one.
ur accuracy is fine. limit your shots to 20 yards or so and you will be golden> a hand release will do yah wonders, or a bowlers wrist brace
This is what you are looking for Rip Shot release, puts NO stress on your wrist. http://www.riparchery.com/ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O8Xgcf8hM5c
No,I haven't but would like to try one.To me,it looks like it could be a good training aid to help with good form. I wish more new about it.It really would be a helpful piece of equipment for those with wrist and arm issues, such as the OP.
