If you go mechanical go with an arrow around 450 grains.

I've shot both types and for a mechanical broad head I shoot the NAP blood runners because even if something doesn't work 100% like its suppose to you still have the cutting surface a little greater then a fixed. I've also shot rage and have had a lot of success with them. You get a good shot with either or but cutting surface is good for a bigger blood trail.

Always shot rage original 2 blade never failed. Comparing entry and exit holes and damage done with the rage hypodermic and the nap killzone is what made me make the switch away from the original

I hate to be contrary but a heavy arrow and a high draw weight are ideal.

Heavy draw weight won't overcome shooting a "noodle"

I prefer Chinese knockoff rage( typically $1.20 a piece ) and Walmart arrows (at $3 a piece) and I am yet to miss a deer due to anything but my own fault. Don't over think it, just practise more!

Yes. I've shot Montecs, VPA, Wac 'em, Phathead, DRT all equally well from the same bow, same arrow without changing anything. If the bow is set up proper, all broadheads will shoot good. No, I' m not a good bow tuner, just lucky I guess I got it right by accident.

    For mechanical, I prefer Swhacker.

I was so excited to shoot the DRT heads. I was disappointed when I realized the whistled like a pig

I'll be shooting fixed blades this year. Either the Slicktrick magnum, muzzy mx-3, or the NAP thunderhead razor. Just trying to decide what would be the best out of those three.

They both work but its all on ur past history with them. If you've always been successful with mechanical heads and had bad history with fix heads. Then stick with mechanical. If opposite then stick with fixed heads
