As I stated in earlier post I am back at bow hunting after 12 years. Was good at it then, but by 42 yoa and 54 (8/10ths) change some thngs. The bow is still the same, changed to carbon express Maxima (?) Hunter 28 3/4th " with a Wisker Brisket at 60 lbs of draw and mechanial release.
I used the Spitfire 100 grain mechanical broadhead and was very please with it, without any malfunction for the 5 years or so that I shot it but realize as they say "time does not stand still" I am down to the broadheads for my set up. Pleass give me as much cross section of opinions as I can get. I have read many of the threads that have been posted on lots of subject and have found this to be the most informative forum of any kind that I have ever been involved with. I will probably turn some off but I have been a criminal investigator for 28 years and take everything as infomation and verify the facts, ( just a curse of the trade), I have found honest men and women on this site trying to help other people. Thank you for that. Well after my rant, any help would be appreciated.

swatts, There are a lot of great broadheads out there fixed and mech. it kinda comes down to personal preference. I use the NAP BloodRunner best of both worlds you get huge enterence and exit holes major internal damage and if you don't get a passthru it stays cutting like a fixed head inside the deer, and oh yeh they fly like darts.. Just my two cents..Walt

I prefer fixed 3 blade replaceable (Muzzy)...but bottom line is find one that groups for you and keep 'em SHARP...at that point they all work...

There are a lot of great heads on the market. Most of them will kill a deer without any issues. It'll all come down to your personal preference. Do you want huge wounds from expandables or the certainty of a solid fixed blade. It's all YOUR preference.

I shoot fixed only because I have shot mechanicals and they have failed to break through the rubber band. People swear by them and that's fine. For me, no matter how much they have gotten better over the last two years I refuse to shoot them at this point in my life. I want the certainty of a fixed head. Just MY preference.

This year I went w/ replaceable blades. G5 Stryker. Next year I'll probably be into G5 Montec (non replaceable). All though my Stryker went through a rib, spine, and stoped on the opposing rib and remained sharp, I never liked the idea of the blades being able to come out. I used wax and plumbers tape to help secure the head, but I was always concerned about the issue.
