I normally shoot NAP Spitfires for whitetails and I am going to Colorado in September for Elk. Just wondering how many (if any) have used mechanicals for Elk?

    Thanks

I don't know about the spitfires but I have seen some bad experiences with mechanicals on elk. I'm going to get slammed here but the rage were the ones Ive seen problems with. I have a buddy who shoots the grim reapers and hasn't had a problem. I would suggest a good fixed blade still.

would also suggest a nice sharp sturdy fixedblade.

Why would you add to the already tough equation of elk hunting a possible broadhead failure with mechanicals....fixed fixed fixed

Thanks for the feedback. Guess I'm breaking the old thunderheads out of mothball fleet.
