Youtube has several great how to videos. Just search for "broadhead tuning"

I feel like this is one of top 5 most talked about/debated things in bowhunting, it's awesome that you're coming into it with an open mind and you're right there are a lot of options. I was shooting the creed for the last few years at 28 inches and 70 lbs. I went from muzzy to the 2" NAP killzone and I killed 2 bucks with that setup but wasn't getting anywhere near passing through either animal and I didn't like that because with a marginal shot (**** happens) I wanted that clean pass through. I ended up going to a victory vap with a 50 grain outcert and I got my pass through on a nice doe last oct. With all that said I think with your set up a good fixed blade is the way to go, I loved my 3 blade muzzy and I've heard nothing but good things about slick tricks! If your getting beat up trying to tune fixed blades the bow shop where you bought your bow will probably help you tune free of charge. Good luck this season!

Wasp Archery has a broadhead picker on their website. It won't recommend a mechanical until draw weight is input at 65-70 pounds.

Try some slick tricks I have found them to fly well.

I second Sota the slick trick magnums and standards fly just like my field points.

I third what Sota said. Slick Trick magnums are almost dead on with my field points!

Plan for a perfect hit. Prepare for a poor hit. NO mechanicals here.

Basically get your bow dialed in with field points. Via French tuning or whatever. Then screw on a broadhead and shoot at a spot on the target. Shoot a field point at the same spot. Most likely the broadhead will be a few inches off. Adjust the windage on your rest left or right to follow your field point. If the broadhead is to the right, move your rest to the left and vice versa. That's assuming you're right handed. Do that until they are hitting close to each other. Adjust your elevation up or down depending on if the broadheads are high or low. Small adjustments. Don't worry about them hitting the spot you're aiming at. Adjust your sight after you have them hitting the same spot. In theory the broadheads should then have the same point of impact as your field points. Thats the gist of it.

Absolutely, tuning is the biggest thing and hitting the target cleanly. It doesn't really matter what your using if you can't hit where you are aiming. If your tuned well, you'll hit it where you want and have an ethical kill with your setup.

I personally use NAP Killzones, though I broadhead tune with the spare they give anyways just to ensure I'm hitting where I need to be.

Obviously it works because it's how you do it. But having not tuned, and being a little slow in the comprehension part of things, I guess I thought if you're broadhead and field points were hitting 2" apart, and you moved your rest, aren't they still going to hit 2 inches apart, just in a different location?
Again, not being argumentative or trying to disagree, that's just how it seems like it would work. Either way, I'm going to stick with fixed points and will get it set up.
