OK gotta get a new sight ordered today, I know I want a MBG. However I am torn between the Rush which I have on my Dren and the Ascent, so who all has it?? Fitz aren't you shooting one? For those who are how do you like the floater? Do you Have four or five pins? How often do you use the floater? How easy and fast is it to make an adjustment? Any positive or negative feedback would be appreciated.

I love it, love it, love it! You won't be sorry.

Mine is a 3 pin with the 4" dovetail, FWIW.

I have it set up at 20-30-40 and use the 40 as my floater. It really only takes a couple seconds to change the dial, and I can shoot to 40-45 with out changing a thing. That's why I love it.

Just remember to dial it back when you're done practicing long range. I lost an arrow @ 30 yards :busted:

Thanks Fitz, I anticipate a SNS goat hunt this year and I'm thinking it could really come in handy...

With the 3-pin set up how far out can you go with the floater?

With my set up I can get out to 80. I anchor high, and have a slower arrow (225ish fps) though. Most could get to 100 I'd guess.

Does just one pin move or do they all move? I don't want to start using a peep but I'm not sure how to use my hind sight on a moving pin sight.

    They all move.

I had black gold custom build me a 4 pin ascent. 20-50 for all of my hunting and I can stretch out to about 120 for practice/follow up shots.

I'd really only need the longer ranges for 3d shoots. These guys out here looooove long target shots. Kinda tough for my 210 fps arrows. :(

i have been really looking at the black gold sights too... My problem is i really really favor the vertical pin sights, and would like something on a dovetail but ideally i would like to have 2 pins set up for hunting (20 and 30), and then adjustable for shooting. Also want a 2" sight housing (I THINK???)..... But the ambush sight has also been in the running for the new sight

Would it be possible for me to take a pin out of the 3 pin set up for a total of 2 pins and still be able to adjust for 60+ yard shoot for fun in the back yard?

    Sorry to hijack the thread?

You can customize the number of pins you want and the base so you can build the sight you want. Go check out their website and you will see all the different options they have.

Yeah i could have stated it a better way.

Would 2 pins still be adjustable for those longer shots? If i can get the courage to go back to horizontal pins im certain its the sight i will go with.... never heard anybody say anything bad about them

Yeah I don't see why it wouldn't be. Just sight in properly and apply the tape. It should be able to hit 60 + pretty easy. I feel like someone on here has a 2 pin version but I could be wrong.

I've got the MBG ascent with 6" dove tail but shooting a single pin. Best I've every used.

Hmm. There are a couple of 80+ yard shots and one 112 yard. :(

Where is this at ? I can probably get about 80 out of my HHA now and I'm shooting 220 fps, if I hold over enough I'll get to 112
