Connor is going to make a boat load of money. So much that he who have to fight, or really do anything again. But, what if he loses and then returns to the ufc and loses his first fight back? Ronda was forgotten about almost over night I wonder if Connor is risking the same thing.
There's always a little of that risk at all times in fighting, be it boxing or MMA. Especially when it comes to superstars, if they have a few times in a row where they seem to under perform...their hype diminishes very quickly. The perception of "unbeatable" dissipates fast after a loss. The most extraordinary thing about Mayweather is that he never lost and that makes this fight all the more interesting. Fighting (and professional sports in general) have a history of being rigged for big payouts so who knows how this will go. I hope it's a good fight but I'm not paying to watch it anyway, I'll maybe watch it later for free. I'm interested enough to pay attention but that's it, lol.
Forbes has his current net worth at 34 million, and they estimate he will get 75 million on this fight. 100+ million and public forgetting about him. That would be a hell of a remaining life for a 28 year old.
McGregor is going to try and live in the clinch. If not he is dead. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
This is a win-win for McGregor. Win and he becomes unimaginably famous for beating Floyd. Lose...well nobody expects him to win anyway so, he can take his 75 mil and go back to Ireland.
I agree. He's gotta make it dirty. McGregor has never dealt with anyone who's even in the same ballpark as Floyd as far as hand speed and footwork goes though.
It would be a bit surprising to me if Mayweather doesn't win within the first 4-5 rounds. I would be shocked if Mcgregor somehow won as he cannot box with Mayweather. Something unexpected would need to happen for Mayweather to lose but anything is possible. An MMA fight would obviously be a different story but this is boxing.
I wish they would have met halfway with Sanshou rules. Kicks, knees, elbows, and all throws are legal. No ground fighting after a throw is accomplished. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
Is it purely boxing or can McGregor use other martial arts? Sorry I'm not much of a fighter fan Sent from my SM-G930V using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
This was done in the 70's and was a flop. Will not pay a dime to watch, but will check out the highlights on espn or youtube.
Shh Conner does not know it, he thinks he has a chance. It is like thinking because he played basketball as a youth and then went on to become a great football player that somehow he could then transfer those skills and be able to compete with LeBron in a game of 1 on 1.
Jake no one is taking your bet unless your giving the 25-1 odds that its getting in Vegas. I haven't bought a fight I was really looking forward to since Tyson. This fight is stupid but I can see a lot of people buying because of the what if factor. I don't think it will be over as fast as some of the Tyson fights but it isn't going to last long. McGregor's only chance of winning is a miracle knock out punch.
Mayweather might be caught off guard by mc's style of boxing and get knocked out in the first round. That's my prediction. Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk
