I purchased the Maxxis 35 this year and have probably sent 500 or more shots through it. I am very pleased with the bow, but have recently been hearing a noise coming from the screws that mount the limbs to the riser (not the screws that you turn to increase or decrease the draw weight). I have tried tightening and loosening these screws. When I do this, the problem seems to go away for a number of shots, but then will re-occur. Has anyone else had this issue? Any thoughts on how to correct permanently? Thanks.
I'm assuming your talking about the screws that tighten the limb pocket? They will come loose from time to time. My first plan of action would be to hit them with some plumbers tape or the non-perm. loctite, blue I believe.
Sorry to hear your having problems with your 35. I havent had any problems with mine even after 1000 plus shots. You might want to take it back to the shop and have it looked at.
I agree, though I've never had a problem with ANY of the several Hoyt's I've shot, I think it may warrant a trip to the shop to double check.
Thanks for the replies everyone. The interesting thing is that I shot about 30 rounds today, and the noise seems to have disappeared. If it comes back, I will definitely take it back to the shop for a look. Hopefully it stays gone, as the accuracy of this bow is unbelievable. Thanks again.
