Ok my buddy called me up yesterday wanted to know if id come over to take out some does to help him and his property so i said yeah got the green light to shoot 2 so we tested out the reds against the mayhems to just see whats better for hunting both arrows cut to 28 with nocturnal nocks and g5 t3s so the test was on 2 does 2 shoulder hits i shot the red first right into her shoulder at 27 yards got about 6 to 8 inches of penetration doe ran about 110 yards and droped in a ravine this was at 1 pm found her droped her off at the barn went right back to the stand 3pm the second doe was shot with a mayhem the mayhem went into her shoulder at 31 yards got 12 to 14 inches of penetration doe ran 40 yards and droped where we could see her got her back to the barn and looked at both does shots almost the same spot i just couldnt believe how much more penetration the mayhem had im not nocking the reds but the mayhems have more penetration power and it was a further shot how come both arrows just about weigh the same both shot outta my bow same poundage and draw later we chronod a red and mayhem the mayhem was a bit slower than the red i think the reds are great for 3d or tournys but ill stick with the mayhems for hunting after seeing this it didnt bother me he wanted to test this i was all up for it he taped it itll be on youtube soon ill upload the link here when he does what are your guys thoughts and likes i like both but the mayhems brought mayhem last night lol

Were you trying for shoulder shots?

Did you hit both does in the same exact spot? Were they both the same size deer? Plus there was a 4-5 yard difference. Not sure what the standard is? But congrats on the harvests!!!!

A heavier arrow will always outpenetrate a lighter arrow when shaft diameter etc is kept constant. A heavier arrow maintains its momentum longer especially when crushing through heavy bone. The lighter arrow may be faster or even carry a bit more kinetic energy but alot of it comes down to the momentum it maintains when it hits the deer. Congrats on the does! Im itching to try out these torches, they weigh 441gr :-)

I shoot the Mayhem Hunter 350's and love them. I have a couple dozen now. They sure do penetrate well and very tough.

I shoot the mayhems.... I don't understand why you would purposely aim for the shoulder. To much could go wrong for me to try that.

I know I'm going to get bashed for this but please punctuate your sentences so it wont be so painful to read and easier for us to understand.

I use mayhem Hunter 350's with g5 strikers. Since doing that all of my hits have been complete pass through. Keep an eye on ebay. I just picked up a dozen brand new mayhem Hunter 350's for 100 shipped. Not bad.

Lol no bashing here i understand.but we were purposely aiming for shoulder hits just for the testing we normaly dont aim for shoulder. I know alot can go wrong ive been bow hunting for 12 years now and ive seen and had my fare share of things going wrong. we were shooting the 350s but that video should be up tonight . Ill post the link here as soon as it is.

I don't blame you...lol, I got Two Dozen of them now...enough to last for a while. The Mayhem Hunters are some tough arrows for sure.
