hey guys. i shoot a pse stinger that i bought when i was 12. now im 15 and im shooting gold tip velocity hunter arrows 400.
after the season however, i was thinking about saving up my grass cutting money to buy some maxima reds. im reading nothing but good things about these arrows. even though i dont have a top of the line bow, i think its always good to never cheat yourself on an arrow.
anyway, ive read the charts for arrow sizing. im at 65 pounds of draw weight and 28 inches of draw. the chart on the cabelas site puts me at shooting 350 maxima reds. i was wondering if i should go with that or i could squeak by with the 250's. any help will be appreciated. ive killed a few animals, but with no one around me that bowhunts, im more oblivious that others. any little information will sure be appreciated. thanks guys.

I've done a lot experimenting, tweaking and tuning and all of that has shown is that you cant really be overspined when shooting broadheads...within reason...I'd say go with the 350's, they are what I use and have very similiar specs as you

Carbon Express has a chart on their site you can go by...The Red's are a little different that the others they have. Alteast that is what I have read about them. You can check it out though...

What is your arrow length? According to the chart, 63-69 lbs up to a 29 inch arrow would be the 250. 30 and up arrow length would be the 350's

You could get by with the 250's, but I would go with the 350's. Figure, Carbon Express knows better then you or I what their arrow is capable of and what is correct. I shoot the 350 Maxima Red Streaks this year.. upgraded from Carbon Express Mach 5's.. and I'm getting tighter groups and more penetration. With modern compounds shooting high 200's to low to mid 300's FPS, a slightly heavier arrow isn't going to make much of a difference so I would focus on penetration power and kinetic energy. You can shoot a bullet arrow, but if you can't penetrate, what is the point
